Marc Straub and his wife Juli have called Douglas County home for decades, living twenty miles north of Orondo where they raised their four children and now enjoy three grandchildren — with a fourth on the way. Married for 38 years, Marc and Juli are small business owners with deep roots in this community and an enduring love for the land and people of Douglas County.
Marc brings a wealth of real-world experience to the Commissioner's office. He has owned and managed multiple small businesses throughout his career, and served 17 years as CEO of a regional trade association representing hundreds of businesses across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties — giving him a firsthand understanding of what it takes for local enterprises to succeed.
The Straub family shares a deep connection to agriculture and a genuine commitment to preserving the rural way of life that defines Douglas County. Marc knows that the decisions made in the Commissioner's office have real consequences for real families — and he takes that responsibility seriously. His goal is straightforward: to ensure that Douglas County remains a vibrant, thriving county for generations to come.
"Eight years ago, when I first ran for County Commissioner, I made a commitment to focus on what I heard matters most to folks in the county — supporting economic growth, maintaining our infrastructure, reducing unnecessary regulation, backing public safety, and addressing housing challenges. Since then, I've worked hard to follow through on those priorities. I'm proud of the progress we've made, but there's still more to do.
Serving Douglas County has been an honor, and one I don't take lightly. This role is about showing up, listening, doing your homework, and making thoughtful, steady decisions that benefit the community as a whole. I'm running again because I believe experience matters — and because I want to continue building on the work already in motion.
I would truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you for another four years. Thank you for your trust and support."
